Introduction

Personal data and privacy is important to us. eScience is committed to maintain any confidential information and to strictly limit any disclosure in accordance with local laws. We are at the forefront of not only implementing but complying with the Data Privacy Act of the Philippines. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third party websites which you may have accessed from the queue.ph platform.

Your Rights and Your Preferences

You may be aware that a new European Union law, called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives certain rights to individuals in relation to their personal data. Accordingly, we have implemented additional transparency and access controls stated in this Privacy Policy to help users take advantage of those rights. As available and except as limited under applicable law, the rights afforded to individuals are:

Right of Access - the right to be informed of and request access to the personal data we process about you;
Right to Rectification - the right to request that we amend or update your personal data where it is inaccurate or incomplete;
Right to Erasure - the right to request that we delete your personal data;
Right to Restrict - the right to request that we temporarily or permanently stop processing all or some of your personal data;
Right to Object:
the right to not be subject to a decision - based solely on automated decision making, including profiling, where the decision would have a legal effect on you or produce a similarly significant effect.

How do we collect your personal data?

We collect your personal data in the following ways:

When you sign up for queue.ph, we collect personal data so you can use the full service such as your name, email address, contact number, address, location, service specialization and service schedule details. Information captured may be used to display specific ads while service is being used.
We collect personal data about your use of queue.ph such as what ads are presented to the viewer.

What personal data do we collect from you?

We collect the following basic personal information from all users of this application:

Through registration information: name, e-mail address , contact number , address, location, service specialization and service schedule details.
Some of the personal data we will ask you to provide is required in order to create your account. You also have the option to provide us with some additional personal data in order to make your account more personalized.

QUEUE.PH Usage Information:

Information about your interactions with queue.ph app which includes the date and time of any requests you make, and your interactions with other queue.ph platform users. This also may include details of your interactions with the advertisements on the platform.
Technical Data which may include URL information, your IP address, the types of devices you are using to access or connect to the queue.ph platform, unique device IDs, device attributes, network connection type (e.g. Wi-Fi, 3G, LTE, Bluetooth) and provider, network and device performance, browser type, language, information enabling digital rights management, operating system, and queue.ph application version.

Meta-data

QUEUE.PH may collect and record how often you use the app and for how long, your device type, unique identifiers, operating system type & version, battery usage, the third party web pages or applications you visit or use or interact with via the Application, information that you viewed on our Services, advertisements that are shown to you or that you view or click on, the fact that you used the Services to communicate with other users and the fact that you used third parties application/services via queue.ph to communicate with third parties, and the duration of such communications, the Internet Protocol (IP) address and the name of the domain that serves you to access the Services, and the geographic location of the device that you are using to log in and use queue.ph.

We also collect information about the interaction of your devices with our Services, including, crash reports, system activity, and the date, time, and referrer URL of your request.

What do we use your personal data for?

Provide our services

We use your information to deliver our services. For example:

To provide advertising services, including personalized ads, in accordance with the section titled ‘Advertisements’ under this Privacy Policy.
To share your submissions as a facility of communication between you, queue.ph, and queue.ph users such as front liners, and service providers and clients.

Send SMS to users

To send service clients their appointment details
To send service clients information and reminders on their queueing status
To send service clients a thank you message and links to discounts
To give instructions to service clients
To send the service provider the queue status

Maintain & improve our services

We also use your information to ensure our services are working as intended, such as tracking outages or troubleshooting issues you report to us. And we use your information to improve the service or to develop new features or services.

Provide personalized services, including content and ads

We use the information we collect to operate the Services and to customize your experience with the Services. For example, based on your past activity on the Services we may also suggest to you common services where you can book your next appointments.
We may also use the information to provide you with support and handle requests and complaints.
We may also show you personalized ads based on your interests and past activity. For more information, see section titled ‘Advertisements’ under this Privacy Policy.

Measure performance

We use data for analytics and measurement to understand how our services are used. For example, we analyze data about your usage of the Services to do things like optimize product design. We also use the data we collected about the ads you view or interact with (e.g. click on) to help advertisers understand the performance of their ad campaigns and to provide them with aggregated reports. We may also use data to measure the usability and effectiveness of Queue.ph own marketing efforts on third party sites or platforms.
Produce data analytics for ad measurements.

Communicate with you

We also use your information to send you updates, notices, announcements, and additional information related to the Services;
We may also use your information to conduct surveys and questionnaires; And if you contact queue.ph we may keep a record of your request in order to help solve any issues you might be facing.
Subject to your prior indication of consent (to the extent required under applicable law), we may also use the email address that you provided to send you promotional and/or marketing materials. At any time, you may choose not to receive such materials by clicking on the “Unsubscribe” link in the email messages that we may send to you. In any case, queue.ph will not share your contact details with any advertiser, unless explicitly permitted or required by law.

QUEUE.PH allows advertisers to run ad campaigns on the Services.

The information and advertisements that you see when accessing the Services may be targeted on the basis of your current queue.ph activity, such as your appointment location, and appointment time.

Depending on your settings, you may also see ads personalized to you based on:

Information we received from you. For example, your service specialization.
Past activity and search query history Information from our ad partners, including entities that belong to the Google group of companies and other trusted ad partners.

Please note:

We don’t knowingly collect nor do we show you personalized ads based on sensitive categories, such as race, religion, sexual orientation, or health.
We don’t share information that personally identifies you with advertisers, such as your name or email, unless you ask us to.
As described under “When QUEUE.PH shares your information” section, QUEUE.PH may share information with these services such as a unique identifier for advertising (Advertising ID available on Android mobile devices or similar technologies).
The Ads personalization control described above apply to personalized ads served by QUEUE.PH on the QUEUE.PH platform and they do not apply to ads served on Queue.ph’s behalf.
When you visit a third party website from queue.ph ads, such third party may use cookies on your computer. The third party’s use of cookies is subject to their own privacy policies and not to this Privacy Policy. If you wish to study the privacy policies of those third parties you should visit their services, or contact them directly.

The Services may include an internal messaging system which provides you the ability to send and receive messages to and from other users, and to receive marketing messages from us. You hereby agree that we may use the internal messaging system for the purpose of informing you regarding products or services, which may interest you.

Please note however that other queue.ph users are not allowed to use your contact details or our internal messaging account for commercial advertising purposes. If you have encountered any user generated advertising material, please inform us through the channels listed on queue.ph 'Contact Information' page.

eScience would not be held responsible for the content of said advertisements and the products delivered or services rendered thereby by third parties and you irrevocably and unconditionally agree that we shall not be held responsible or liable for any loss, damage, cost or expense that you may suffer or incur as a result or in connection thereof.

Sharing your personal data

QUEUE.PH does not sell, rent or lease your personal information to third parties without consent.

QUEUE.PH will not share your personal information with others, without your permission, except for the following purposes and to the extent necessary in Queue.ph’s good-faith discretion:

As necessary for the facilitation and operation of the Services.
If QUEUE.PH reasonably believes that you have breached the Terms of Use or is investigating potential breach of the Terms of Use, or believes that you abused your rights to use the Services, or performed any act or omission that queue.ph reasonably believes to be violating any applicable law, rules, or regulations. QUEUE.PH may share your information in these cases, with law enforcement agencies and other competent authorities and with any third party as may be required to handle any result of your wrongdoing;
If QUEUE.PH is required, or reasonably believes that it is required by law to share or disclose your information;
In any case of dispute, or legal proceeding of any kind between you and QUEUE.PH, or between you and other users with respect to, or in relation with the Services;
In any case where Queue.ph reasonably believes that sharing information is necessary to protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of Queue.ph, our users, or the public as required or permitted by law, including to prevent imminent physical damage or damage to property;
To detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security, or technical issues;
If Queue.ph organizes the operation of the Services within a different framework, or through another legal structure or entity, or if Queue.ph is acquired by, or merged into or with another entity, or if Queue.ph enters bankruptcy, provided however, that those entities agree to be bound by the provisions of this Privacy Policy, with respective changes taken into consideration;
To collect, store, hold and manage your personal information through cloud based or hosting services or a third party or a party affiliated or connected to Queue.ph, as reasonable for business purposes, which may be located potentially countries outside of your jurisdiction;
We may also have selected measurement services which help us understand how our users interaction with our ads and in order to measure Queue.ph own marketing efforts, by using and sharing the device’s identifier.
Personal information may also be shared with Queue.ph trusted partners and service providers to process it for us, based on our instructions and in compliance with this policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
Anonymized data removes the data subject’s personally identifiable information.
SMS Sender mobile number may be shared with the SMS recipient when sending the different SMS types per client appointment.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your personal data only as long as necessary to provide you with the queue.ph Service and for legitimate and essential business purposes, such as making data-driven business decisions about new features and offerings, complying with our legal obligations, and resolving disputes. We keep some of your personal data for as long as you are a user of the queue.ph platform. Transactional records shall be maintained and safely stored for six (6) months from the date of transaction except where specific contract clause and/or regulations require a different retention period.

Keeping your data safe

We are committed to protecting our users’ personal data. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to help protect the security of your personal data; however, please note that no system is ever completely secure. We have implemented various policies including anonymization, encryption, access, and retention policies to guard against unauthorized access and unnecessary retention of personal data in our systems.

Your password protects your user account, so we encourage you to use a unique and strong password, limit access to your computer and browser, and log out.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Notice is in effect as of April 30, 2019 and will continue to remain in effect unless otherwise directed by eScience's Data Protection Officer.
This notice may be modified by the eScience, and modifications to our Privacy Policy may be released via official issuances, to which you will be duly notified of by virtue of the online registration details you have provided to us.
If significant changes to this Privacy Policy will affect your personal information, we shall notify you through the email address you have provided us.
